Now Trump’s legal team is begging the judge to extend the deadline by three days for basically no good reason. It sounds like Trump is desperately trying to pull the cash together, and is coming up short, and is trying to buy even a small amount of time in the hope of finding some more cash under some rock somewhere.
This reeks of desperation. It comes after Trump’s legal team already tried asking the court if he could post a bond a mere fraction of the size of what he owes in his New York civil fraud trial. It’s abundantly clear that Trump lacks the ability to post the full bond in both cases.
Meanwhile Trump is out there stupidly claiming in interviews that he has plenty of cash for posting bond. This only serves to undermine what his attorneys are trying to do with these fillings. Trump may not understand this, but judges are able to see Trump’s TV interviews, and can use it as a basis in their decisions.
